Handwashing issues push North Side restaurant to low health score

SAN ANTONIO – A cafe on the north side of town was cited last month after an employee was seen handling raw meat before grilling without washing his hands.

Las Minas Cafe, located in the 300 block of Blanco Road, received a score of 77 and was also criticized for having a hand washing sink with too low a temperature.

The restaurant also had obvious grease and food residue on its kitchen walls, according to city health records.

Las Minas failed a food safety inspection in 2020 after having leaky faucets in one of its restrooms.
