Los Antojitos under new owner
ST. ANDREWS, Fla. (WJHG / WECP) – After 20 years, a local Mexican restaurant leaves its legacy to a new owner after the deal closes on Monday morning.
Los Antojitos started on US 98 in 1998 and moved in 2016 to become an icon in St. Andrews. Former owners Matt and Mynta Harbison have made the choice to retire and thanked all of their loyal customers and employees.
âWe have been investing body and soul in this restaurant for 20 years. We’ve worked so hard and feel like we’ve built a wonderful restaurant, a local favorite for sure. We are just ready to spend time together, with our family and to travel, âMynta said.
Local business leaders Ismael and Silvino Barragan, along with Omar Taleb, bought Los Antojitos. The Barragan brothers own the Los Rancheros restaurants in Bay County and co-own the two Diego’s Burritos factories in Panama City Beach with Taleb. Ismael said they were excited to continue to be “fun, funky, and always fresh.”
âIt’s a beautiful place, great customers. We’re just trying to fit in and make it happen as it always has been and just build in the legacy and keep going, âIsmael said.
Ismael said adding an additional restaurant to their credit would be a lot of work, but they are up to the challenge. They plan to keep everything the same, continuing to provide what they say is great fresh Mexican food, great margaritas, and live music.
