When the kids are asleep, but you’re going away for a long night, it’s good to treat yourself to a warm hot chocolate. But let’s face it, the old marshmallow and cocoa recipe we’ve been using since high school is starting to get tired. Luckily, we found a spicier, boozier, and very delicious hot chocolate recipe on a nonprofit’s Instagram!
Poderistas, a non-profit organization known for building and celebrating Latin culture, has released a mouth-watering hot chocolate recipe that will soon become our favorite recipe. They posted the photo of the hot chocolate and recipe with the adorable caption: “Tonight’s plans: crank up your favorite music, put your feet up, sip that Mexican hot chocolate with a twist.” For an extra kick, stir it all up with a cinnamon stick. Good night!”
Now, the recipe calls for the basics, but what sets it apart from other basic cocoa recipes are the additions of chili powder, Mexican chocolate, and your favorite Kahlua liqueur.
The steps to create this adult-only cocoa are foolproof. You start by combining all the ingredients in a saucepan and serve it with a sprinkle of Kahlua (or whipped cream if you don’t fancy it).
If you don’t have these amazing ingredients, no worries, that’s what internet shopping is for.
