NYC Restaurant Week kicks off, with some big attendees from the Bushwick area : Bushwick Daily
NYC Restaurant Week is upon us! Despite its name, Restaurant Week is a four-week event, with participating restaurants offering special prix fixe menus at $29, $39, or $59 per person from January 18 through February 13. Several restaurants in the Bushwick area will be participating, giving us an amazing opportunity to get out and try some delicious local spots.

Located at 112 Graham Avenue, sweet perch is a neighborhood joint specializing in Korean business with a Southern barbecue twist. Its casual interior promotes the communal dining experience that is so important in the two kitchens that Gentle Perch relies on, making it the perfect place to visit with friends or family this restaurant week.
sweet perch $29 prix fixe dinner menu will be served during the four weeks of the event and includes your choice of starter, main course and dessert. Entrees include Gentle Perch’s eggplant fries, served with hickory mayo (a Gentle Perch specialty), as well as vegan corn chowder or corn ribs. For entree, guests can enjoy creative South Korean barbecue platters, all of which include lettuce wraps, bao rolls, pickles, and Korean barbecue sauce, served with your choice of meat. Finally, the restaurant’s weekly menu ends with dessert, and you can choose between Chips and Whip from Gentle Perch and Grilled Rice Ice Cream from Noona.
Looking for Szechuan-inspired dishes that will numb your mouth and melt your mind? This restaurant week, Mission, located at 599 Johnson Ave., has you covered. Named after the San Francisco neighborhood where its original iteration has its roots, Mission has since become a local institution here in Brooklyn.
This restaurant is an exciting choice for vegans and carnivores, as it offers creative dishes for the plant-eaters among us, like the Spicy Pineapple Appetizer or Mission Mushrooms, which come with silken tofu, fermented chili and green pepper, plus extra spicy XXX chicken. wings and triple-cooked bacon. Head to this super cool neon-lit spot off Flushing Avenue for its $59 dinner.
BK de Paloma
BK de Paloma, located at 1 Knickerbocker Ave., is a local establishment serving modern Mexican cuisine. Its standard menu includes familiar dishes like burritos, tostadas and tacos, all served with a wide selection of toppings, such as chorizo, chicken or mushrooms. You can also stop by to try something new, like Paloma’s Avocado Fries – breaded and fried fresh slices of avocado for an extra crunch. With a wide selection of cocktails, Paloma’s is perfect for a romantic date in an elegant setting on Knickerbocker Avenue.
Paloma’s offers a $39 three-course dinner for New York Restaurant Week. The special menu includes your choice of entrees, like their traditional guacamole with an optional pancetta topping, and entrees such as Chamorro en Adobo, a succulent pork knuckle slow-cooked in a guajillo adobo. For dessert, you can choose between the tres leches cake or the churro tostada. The menu also includes options for vegans and vegetarians, including vegan enchiladas, stuffed with sweet potatoes and dipped in vegan green sauce.
