Opening of a new boutique selling local artisan products and a 1950s-inspired dessert dinner at Coombe Abbey

An award-winning Warwickshire hotel will launch a new craft store and 50s-inspired dessert dinner later this month to coincide with a spectacular illuminated winter light trail.

The Coombe Abbey Hotel, just outside Coventry, will feature local food and drink at the Abbey Craft Market in the renovated former Visitor Center, ranging from craft beers to artisan chocolate, baked goods, handmade pies, canned goods and pickles from all over the region.

It will feature sausage, bacon and assorted baskets much loved by award-winning Warwickshire-based British butcher and charcuterie, Aubrey Allen at Leamington Spa.

Other suppliers will include the Windmill Hill Brewing Company of Warwickshire, a bespoke chocolatier in Warwick, gourmet specialties from Cotswolds Fayre and chutney, condiments and pickles made by The Bay Tree Food Company, as well as outerwear by Regatta Clothing.

Milkshakes, pancakes, waffles and desserts will be on the menu at a brand new retro American-style restaurant, The Sundae Club Dessert Diner, as part of ambitious new plans.

And Flowers at Coombe will move from inside the hotel to the renovated building

The opening in mid-November is expected to coincide with Coombe Abbey’s Winter Light Trail, Luminate Coombe, a beautiful mile-long, piped-music trail that runs from Thursday, November 18. until Christmas Eve.

The hotel, which has a country park, forests and Go Ape treetop experience, welcomes approximately 450,000 visitors a year. He hopes these additional attractions will further enhance the experience of visitors to the site, especially those who frequent Luminate Coombe and Go Ape, as well as day trippers, families and regular walkers.
