Reimagining Fiesta Village and More Coming to Knott’s Berry Farm in 2023

Major changes and upgrades are underway at both Knott’s Berry Farm and the neighboring Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel for the 2023 season.

The new party village:

  • The new Fiesta Village will reopen in the summer of 2023, featuring upgraded themes and beautiful decor across three new areas in the area. As you descend El Camino Real and enter Fiesta Village, guests will enter all-new dining venues, an updated stage, and a redesigned market.

  • The Fiesta Plaza stage will be refreshed on an even grander scale, with a matching theme for the adjoining restaurant and new bar.

  • Casa California will be transformed into a completely different dining venue with a menu featuring Mexican dishes such as made-to-order tacos and burritos.
  • Across the street from the brand new restaurant is Papas Mexicana, where patrons can enjoy fan favorites like carne asada fries and other delicious dishes.
  • The former location of La Papa Loca will become Cantina Del Sur, a one-stop shop for specialty drinks.

  • Also in this new area will be an open street market inspired by Olvera Street in Los Angeles. At Fiesta Mercado, customers will find an assortment of merchants and retailers selling items perfect to commemorate their visit to the new Fiesta Village.

  • When guests leave Boardwalk and head to Fiesta Village, they will enter an area filled with magical alebrijes. These brightly colored mythical creatures will invade the landscape and transport guests to a dreamlike world inspired by Mexican folklore.

  • While enjoying the scenery, customers can also satisfy their craving for Mexican street food at the new venue influenced by the Taqueria Fiesta taco stand.

MonteZOOMa: the forbidden fortress

  • Opened in 1978, Montezooma’s Revenge was the world’s first flywheel roller coaster and the oldest shuttle loop roller coaster still in its original location. Montezooma’s Revenge launched millions of guests through Fiesta Village in a gravity-defying single loop track and back again.
  • For 2023, Montezooma’s Revenge is reimagined and redesigned with new thrills added to this roller coaster classic. New updates allow customers to be completely surprised by the direction the train will take at the start of each trip. The random launch sequence will keep anyone from knowing their fate until it’s too late to escape Montezooma’s clutches.
  • To reach the station and attempt to escape with Montezuma’s gold, guests will find their way through the fortress protecting the treasure but must beware of the countless traps within. The grounds leading up to the temple will look like a display of macabre history as the remains of treasure hunters of all ages line the walls. Now that the traps leading to the gold have been cleared, only those brave enough can complete the final challenge and find themselves at the house of hidden Aztec treasure in MonteZOOMa: The Forbidden Fortress.

Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel Renovation:

  • Steps from the thrills of the theme park, Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel offers perfect accommodations for families ready to unwind after a full day of fun at the park.
  • In 2023, the property will unveil a major renovation. The multi-million dollar investment will incorporate an all-new theme with a storyline centered around the park’s founders, Walter and Cordelia Knott.
  • The theme park continues its extensive resort hotel theming by creating a space that will honor the family’s love affair and historic roots in the community. Every aspect of the hotel will be transformed, from common areas, including the lobby and pool, to conference rooms and a newly renovated outdoor event space designed to elevate the experience for business and leisure groups.
  • Renovation is set to begin later this year, starting with a complete transformation of all 322 rooms.

  • Plus, all of Knott’s most popular seasonal events will return for 2023, including:
    • Knott’s PEANUTS Celebration (end of January to February)
    • Knott’s Boysenberry Festival (mid-March to April)
    • Living ghost town!
    • Knott’s Summer Nights
    • Knott’s Spooky Farm
    • Knott’s Happy Farm
