Violent street takeover crash damages El Tarasco restaurant in Slymar – CBS Los Angeles
SYLMAR (CBSLA) – An early Sunday morning street takeover in Sylmar ended with a vehicle driving into Mexican restaurant El Tarasco.
Security camera footage captured the moments before the driver crashed into the restaurant on the 13000 block of Glenoaks Boulevard.

A person can be seen running away through the window just as the vehicle collided with the business, stealing glass in the street. A crowd of spectators invaded the intersection after the accident.

Chris Torres, the restaurant owner’s son, said car crashes in the area are nothing new, but have taken a dangerous turn amid the pandemic.
“At the time, we weren’t that surprised,” he says. “It’s just, it sucks that has happened, and we are very lucky that no one was hurt this time.”

Authorities have yet to release any information about the driver, but the Los Angeles Police Department said it was investigating.
